Wrenchin on the car

So this weekend was one of the best I have had in ages, but as all good things start, bad things end... Friday I hung with a new buddy of mine, and did the same on Saturday. I was coming back from Inola on Saturday night, late, and luckily right before I made it home my '99 Kia Sephia decided to die out on me.

Okay, no problem, happens all the time :-P considering the 5 reasons I have for the fuel pump occasionally stopping for a day or so, but this time it was different. I was getting fuel in the line, the car was cranking, but just was not firing up. Played around with some ideas and was trying to diagnose the problem. Today, around 2:30 I got the car home (Thank God I didn't stall out in Inola at 4 AM in the incredibly thick fog) and I determined the timing belt went out. Got the new belt and Component Kit, spent 140 on those, and I can hopefully have it apart and back together in a couple of days.

I also have my '83 Silverado, my baby... and the Engine has a cylinder that isn't doing anything, do I met this guy from Puerto Rico, and he builds engines and designs motors as a hobby. Hopefully between the two of us, I can get my truck running again this week. Time will tell the rest... Peace and Fried Chicken!

I know I have not been living up to my personal commitment to posting regularly to this blog, but I am toying with the idea of shifting my focus to at&t breaking news.... Open to feedback, have many customers are out there? Care to know when prices are changing? Wouldn't it had been nice to know that if you waited an extra month to get your home phone on, you could have milked an extra 350 dollars in promotions out of at&t?? Well I am going to dedicate this blog to just that, making sure everyone out there is equipped to make intelligent decisions regarding their home entertainment... This is my daughter, Anjelle Starr. She is four years old and is my world. She is so beautiful. She is right in the middle of the phase of her life (3 to 14) where she is obsessed with the notion of being a princess of a ballerina. So about 3 or 4 months ago, I bought her a long princess prom-like dress for her to wear on her 4th birthday. She went off the walls when she saw it, and I realized how rewarding it really can be to do something so little, but for a little mind it is the world you are giving them. So a couple of weeks after that I had an idea, what about ballet lessons? I did some research, and made a few phone calls, and finally found a dance studio with classes for all ages, with one class specifically for kids aged from 3 to 6, so I enrolled her. Each week, the highlight of my week is Thursday evening, when I get off work I come get Anjelle as usual, but her grandpa takes her to the dance class when I am working, and I usually pick her up. Seeing her dressed in her leotard, dancing with the other little girls makes my heart do a flip, she has such a passion for music and dance, I see her doing great things when she grows up.

For the last couple of weeks, I have spent more time reading, thinking, and creating than I have in several years. There was even a point in my life where these activities were part of my daily regime, but more recently, between work and parenthood I have not been fulfilling these passions of mine. I also recently began to realise to just what extent the world of online social networking has blown up. Everywhere you look on the internet now, there are blogs, or networking sites, or forums, and it is a fairly cool thing when you think about it. It allows individuals who may never had found a chance otherwise, to have a voice in the world, with a huge audience.
Personally I find it interesting to read what other people are passionate about, and are thinking about. I like to see what things other people do for recreation. And in my career I have found the fastest, most effective way to learning, is by small, casual discussions with peers. I have learned more by just having random conversations with various people I come acrossed, than I have from any classroom, mentor, or textbook in my life. So for this and other reasons, I have decided to start putting up posts on this blog. I plan on posting various topics that catch my interests, along with keeping a shared log of my personal experiences, and anything else that I decide I want to post.
My goal is to create a small handful of posts that contain a variety of different types of information, and to keep this information fresh and consistently being added. In the future, I will give the blog more direction, but really just want to get into the flow of posting things before I lean towards any specific topic. But one thought had crossed my mind, and I will put up more details shortly, but I thought of posting a tutorial for anybody who owns a Nintendo Wii, and would like to use it as a personal Media Center to play music, pictures, TV, or movies from thier computer.
